WatchTrove

Editorial Policy

WatchTrove keeps a clear line between the data it displays and the words it writes.

Data we display but do not write

Titles, synopses, taglines, credits, release dates, runtimes, artwork, age certifications, audience ratings and related-title recommendations come from TMDB. Where to Watch offers come from JustWatch through TMDB. WatchTrove does not edit these facts, fill gaps with guesses or generate synopses. When TMDB has no synopsis, rating or poster, the page says so instead of inventing one.

What we write

This writing is original, checked against how the site actually behaves and updated when the site changes.

How lists are built

Every chart and recommendation row follows a fixed, published rule, printed beside the list itself. For example, Top Rated includes only movies with at least 2,000 votes and series with at least 800, and the homepage’s recommended row includes only titles that are popular on TMDB and rated 7.2 or higher by at least 300 voters. No title is placed on a list in exchange for payment.

Ratings appear only when at least 25 people have voted, and the vote count is shown next to every rating on title pages.

Independence

WatchTrove has no commercial relationship with the studios or services it lists and shows no advertising. Services appear only because JustWatch lists them for the selected country.

Corrections

Most errors in catalog data are best fixed at the source. A correction made on TMDB, or reported to JustWatch for availability, reaches WatchTrove automatically, usually within a day. Mistakes in WatchTrove’s own writing are corrected as soon as they are confirmed, and guides show the date of their last real update. See the Contact page for how to report a problem.
